cool! what do they think of it? i've heard only good things - a lot of large firms establishing their middle-east headquarters there, fabulous shopping, extravagant hotels, etc. it's a tourist paradise from what i've heard.
Yeah, i get the impression it's tremendously touristy, but with all the oil companies there, it's extremely American friendly and there's lots of gorgeous beaches, once you cna get used to the heat. The school they teach for educates many of those companies' children and the school gave them a large furnished apartment for their stay there.
nice deal. I wonder if they'll have a similar experience to Nat's... she loved Kuwait, but thought the kids were a bit on the snotty side (due to being wealthy).

I have family in Dubai (my aunt & uncle and their two little girls just moved there on a 2-year teaching contract)

My colleague's brother lives there... I heard it was a bit on the pricey side... but beautiful.

that's funny, Tommy Bahama has a store there. So it must be very touristy :)
