Your thoughts?
NYT started off by running an article on a transgender person who had problems using public restrooms due to the gender confusion (1). Now, a professor is calling for single-use toilets (restrooms with single occupancy) to not be gender specific in order to equalize the sexes and increase efficiency (2).
What do you think? Is this a long overdue and welcome move, political corectness run amok, a needless change, or something completely different?

Unisex single-toilet restrooms would definitely cut down on the line outside the women's bathroom. I use the men's all the time if there's only one toilet and the women's has a line... wouldn't mind losing the stares that usually follow me when I exit... :-)

*lol* yeah, it does make sense. i personally don't care either way. i just think it is interesting how it's becoming the latest "crusade" for freedom and equality.

Well speaking from a psychology POV we don't know much about sexual identity, gender identity, gender confusion, and so on. It's still a recent area of study. Heck, it wasn't too long ago that homosexuality was considered a mental illness (not that I'm too proud of that one). Anyway, what I'm so eloquently attempting to say is that it's hard to champion something if you don't know it exists. Once you do, you feel obligated to jump right and make up for lost time :) (Silly humans!)
