I personally have nothing against drugs, but I do get annoyed with gov't sanctioning the use of some, banning others or doing both when it's feeling particularly wacky!

I do have to say, at least they're developing ones now that aren't actual stimulants, eg, Strattera. But the dizzying array of side-effects is still something to gape at.

hey, it's pretty easy. read the DSM IV (psych bible) and figure out the major symptoms of adhd. then just go to a psych and fake it (i hear it's pretty easy). result - a completely legal prescription for speed.

I don't know the pharmacodynamics of Strattera right off, but it's not like Adderall and Ritalin because it's not a controlled substance, eg, for Adderall you can't get refills, MD can't call it or fax the RX in, it has to be locked up in the safe, etc.

Also, there are a ton of "adult ADD" websites that have tests for you to complete that "tell you" if you need to see a doctor. And in adults, its ADD, not ADHD ((as far as I know)). kids can either have ADD or ADHD. But the whole division between the two is sketchy, well actually the whole thing is sketchy, as we've seen...
